China Airlines To Pay $40M In DOJ Cargo Probe

Law360, New York (September 27, 2010, 12:42 PM ET) -- China Airlines Ltd. has agreed to pay a $40 million criminal fine to settle a price-fixing charge, making it the latest airline to cop a deal in the U.S. Department of Justice's probe into the international air cargo industry.

The agreement resolves DOJ allegations that China Airlines conspired to fix the rates charged for international air cargo shipments to and from the U.S. from at least January 2001 until at least Feb. 14, 2006. China Airlines has agreed to cooperate with the DOJ’s ongoing antitrust investigation...
