Law360, New York (April 13, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Popular shoemaker Skechers USA Inc. has inexplicably dropped its trade-libel and unfair competition lawsuit against Asics Corp., the Japanese sporting goods company revealed on Friday.
An Asics spokesperson said the company did not know why Skechers had decided to drop the suit.
In January, Asics sued Skechers in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, alleging that the stripe design on certain Skechers shoe styles infringed on Asics’ trademark.
