UHS Demands More Info From Rival In Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (April 14, 2011, 6:59 PM ET) -- Universal Hospital Services Inc. asked a Texas federal court Thursday to order Freedom Medical Inc. to turn over withheld documents in Freedom's suit accusing UHS and others of trying to monopolize the $450 million medical equipment rental market.

UHS contended Freedom asserted nationwide antitrust claims in the suit but was also trying to limit discovery to its operations in only a few states, according to the emergency motion to compel discovery UHS filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
