Law360, New York (April 15, 2011, 3:46 PM ET) -- Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice PLLC said Thursday it planned to merge with Buist Moore Smythe McGee PA on April 30, boosting its roster to 550 lawyers and creating the largest law firm in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Womble Carlyle said merging with Charleston, S.C.-based Buist Moore would bring specialty experience in the admiralty and maritime practice areas, which will prove especially useful in serving the current expansion of the Panama Canal.
