Law360, New York (April 18, 2011, 12:50 PM ET) -- Mexico's antitrust enforcer fined America Movil SAB de CV wireless unit Telcel nearly 12 billion pesos ($1 billion) on Friday after an almost five-year investigation, the telecommunications giant said.
The Federal Competition Commission, or CFC, notified Radiomovil Dipsa SA de CV, which operates as Telcel, of its decision to hit the country's largest cellular carrier with the 11.989 billion peso penalty for "monopolistic practices" in the market for call terminations, according to America Movil.
