Law360, New York (May 27, 2011, 1:52 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Justice said Friday that Eva Airways Corp. had agreed to plead guilty and pay a $13.2 million criminal fine in a Washington court for its role in a cartel that aimed to fix prices in the air cargo industry.
In a one-count felony charge, prosecutors said Taiwan-based Eva had participated in a scheme to fix air cargo rates for certain international shipments, including ones to and from the U.S., from at least January 2003 until February 2006.
