4th Circ. Scraps Billing Agent's AT&T Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (December 09, 2011, 8:45 PM ET) -- The Fourth Circuit on Thursday affirmed the dismissal of billing agent CGM LLC's $14 million suit accusing BellSouth Telecommunications Inc. and AT&T Corp. of charging anti-competitive rates to rival telecoms that resell BellSouth's services in North Carolina.

A three-judge panel held that U.S. District Judge Robert J. Conrad correctly ruled that as a billing agent for the competing carriers, CGM lacked standing to bring the suit under the Telecommunications Act of 1996.
