Law360, New York (December 13, 2011, 8:59 PM ET) -- A Texas federal judge on Tuesday sentenced a retired U.S. Army major to two years in prison for accepting a $400,000 bribe in exchange for awarding a contract to provide bottled water to U.S. troops in Iraq.
In addition to the prison time, U.S. District Judge Xavier Rodriguez gave Charles J. Bowie Jr., 45, three years of probation and ordered him to pay $400,000 in restitution, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
