Law360, New York (January 06, 2012, 1:41 PM ET) -- Canada’s competition watchdog on Friday fined Domfoam International Inc. and its affiliate CA$12.5 million (US$12.2 million), after the two companies pled guilty to conspiring to fix the price of polyurethane foam products.
The Competition Bureau said that as a result of its investigation, Domfoam and Valle Foam Industries pled guilty Thursday in Ontario Superior Court to violating the country’s Competition Act by colluding with competitors to artificially increase the price and reduce the supply of polyurethane foam products.
