Medicare Fraudster Can Testify In $200M Kickback Trial

Law360, Chicago (May 03, 2012, 6:36 PM ET) -- A Florida federal judge on Wednesday rejected a former medical director's bid to bar some testimony from a co-defendant who pled guilty in an ongoing trial over an alleged $200 million Medicare kickback scheme.

Finding the anticipated testimony "inextricably intertwined" with the charged offense, U.S. District Judge Patricia A. Seitz denied Mark Willner's motion to exclude expected testimony from Mathis Moore, a patient broker who pled guilty to related charges in March, regarding certain evidence that the judge found establishes the background of the men's relationship....
