DOJ Fights AUO Exec's Bid To Hire Hogan Appellate Star

Law360, New York (May 07, 2012, 5:01 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Justice is opposing a convicted AU Optronics Corp. director's bid to hire prominent Hogan Lovells appellate attorney and former Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal to represent him in the liquid crystal display price-fixing case, the agency said in a court filing Friday.

Hui Hsiung, who was AUO's executive vice president at the time of the alleged conspiracy, hired Hogan Lovells partners Michael J. Shepard and Christopher T. Handman to replace his previous counsel following his March 13 price-fixing conviction alongside the company...
