Sempra Whistleblower Seeks Docs From 'Outsourced' SEC Probe

Law360, New York (May 08, 2012, 10:42 PM ET) -- An employee whistleblower who accused Sempra Energy of bribing Mexican officials hit the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission with a California suit last month seeking documents related to the Sempra investigation, arguing that outsourcing investigations to law firms Baker & McKenzie and Jones Day made a "mockery" of justice.

Purported whistleblower Rudolfo Michelon asked a California federal court to compel the SEC and the FBI to release documents stemming from their investigation into Sempra's alleged Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations.
