Clear Channel, JCDecaux End OFT Outdoor Ad Probe

Law360, New York (May 18, 2012, 5:36 PM ET) -- Clear Channel Communications Inc. and JCDecaux on Thursday agreed to modify their U.K. outdoor advertising contracts, resolving a yearlong investigation by the Office of Fair Trading over concerns the contracts were anti-competitive.

The companies agreed, among other things, to not enforce exclusivity and renewal provisions contained in their contracts with local government authorities that potentially restrict outside bidding on advertising space on street furniture and fixtures for up to 20 years, according to the U.K. antitrust regulator.
