Law360, New York (May 24, 2012, 5:51 PM ET) -- Switzerland's antitrust watchdog hit BMW AG with a CHF 156 million ($163 million) fine on Thursday for blocking Swiss consumers from buying the company's cars in other European countries.
The Swiss Competition Commission said the German luxury automaker and its Mini brand had forbidden their European dealerships from selling cars to Swiss consumers, which prevented Swiss buyers from shopping around for lower-priced vehicles in neighboring countries.
