Law360, New York (May 29, 2012, 9:07 PM ET) -- Brazil's antitrust authority finalized rules Tuesday outlining how the merger notification process will work under the country's new competition law, requiring less information for simple transactions but stopping short of making all the changes businesses and attorneys had advocated.
In a special session, Brazil's Administrative Council for Economic Defense, or CADE, approved final regulations for the competition overhaul law that took effect Tuesday, which now requires companies seeking antitrust clearance for transactions in the country to wait for word from the regulator before closing their deal....
