Law360, New York (June 15, 2012, 6:16 PM ET) -- A trade group representing independent bookstores on Friday slammed the government's proposed settlement with three publishing houses accused of conspiring with Apple Inc. to fix electronic book prices, saying the deal would limit competition by allowing Amazon.com Inc. to squeeze out smaller vendors.
