Law360, New York (October 11, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Though committed to blocking Ryanair's takeover bid of Aer Lingus, the European Commission has decided that its power stops short of being able to force the budget carrier to relinquish its minority stake in the rival Irish airline.
On Thursday, the EC formally adopted the decision after determining that it could not require Ryanair to give up its minority stake in Aer Lingus. according to antitrust spokesperson Jonathan Tidd.
