Law360, New York (October 15, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- France Telecom SA will pay a whopping €45 million penalty after a complaint by industry rivals led France's competition authority to determine the telecom company had engaged in anti-competitive behavior.
The French Competition Council said Monday that it had levied the fine after an investigation revealed that the company had “abused its dominant position in the market by favoring the ADSL Internet access services of its subsidiary Wanadoo to the detriment of the development of other competitors.”
