Law360, New York (October 02, 2012, 6:48 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has for months kept corporations waiting on a compliance guide for the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, sowing frustration among lawyers and sparking predictions the anti-bribery document will be a dud.
The guidance, first announced in November by a top DOJ official, is meant to give companies a road map for complying with the FCPA, a 1977 law that prohibits companies from making or offering improper payments to foreign governments in order to secure business.
