Law360, New York (September 28, 2012, 7:39 PM ET) -- The European Union's antitrust watchdog on Friday preliminarily accused 13 food-packaging producers and distributors of fixing prices and divvying up markets for foam and plastic trays used to package fish, meat and other products.
The European Commission sent statements of objections outlining its initial position that over the course of roughly eight years the companies may have run a cartel for polystyrene foam trays and polypropylene rigid trays, which are often used to package fish, meat and cheese for retail sale.
