Cathode Ray Tube Buyers Want Class Cert. In Price-Fixing MDL

Law360, New York (October 02, 2012, 3:04 PM ET) -- Consumers who allege in multidistrict litigation that Toshiba Corp., Hitachi Ltd. and other electronics makers conspired to fix prices on cathode ray tubes sought Monday to certify classes of indirect purchasers of the device in 21 states and Washington.

The indirect purchasers claim numerous electronics companies violated various states' antitrust and unfair competition laws by engaging in a long-running scheme to fix prices on CRTs, components used in certain television sets and computer monitors.
