EC Raids Spike Plaintiffs' Interests, But No Suits Yet

Law360, New York (January 17, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- The dawn raids that swept through the European offices of big-name drugmakers on Wednesday could open the door to more antitrust lawsuits over the misuse of patents, but the wave of new litigation is not likely to take off just yet, attorneys said.

While the European Commission's early-morning raids came as a surprising kick-off to a so-called sector inquiry into the pharmaceutical industry, both plaintiffs' attorneys and defense lawyers said it is still too early to tell how many new lawsuits it could trigger.
