Law360, New York (April 25, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- European biodiesel makers on Friday asked the European Union to impose punitive duties on U.S. biodiesel imports, accusing its rivals across the ocean of being unfairly subsidized.
The European Biodiesel Board said that the market was being flooded with U.S. exports of B99, a blend of 1% diesel and 99% biodiesel, which was in turn squeezing European producers' profit margins, causing them to go bankrupt and leaving capacity idle.
