Connecticut Says McKesson Inflated Drug Prices

Law360, New York (May 29, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- The state of Connecticut has joined the wide-ranging average wholesale price litigation, accusing McKesson Corp. of conspiring with First DataBank Inc. to manipulate the wholesale drug prices that are used to determine the rates for private and public health insurers.

McKesson and First DataBank schemed to inflate the AWP of more than 400 brand-name drugs to 25% over the wholesale acquisition cost, Connecticut claimed in the lawsuit, filed on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
