Publishing Group Backs Antitrust Suit Against Amazon

Law360, New York (July 10, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- An alliance of independent publishers has thrown its support behind an antitrust class action that accuses Amazon.com Inc. of illegally tying the use of its Internet site to the printing services of a subsidiary.

Directors of the Small Publishers Association of North America voted to back the lawsuit, brought by a print-on-demand book publisher in May, saying the group had launched a public campaign to pressure Amazon to reverse its policy.
