Law360, New York (May 11, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Frequently tangled up in the state aid web itself, low cost Irish airline Ryanair Holdings has lodged a complaint with the European Commission against Air France, accusing its well-known competitor of receiving an estimated €1 billion in illegal state aid.
"The French Government has maintained an airport charging system whereby landing and passenger charges for domestic routes are often up to 50% lower than on routes between France and other E.U. member states,” charged Ryanair on Thursday.
