Law360, New York (October 29, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Qantas Airways Ltd. will pay about $13.4 million and British Airways PLC about $3.4 million to Australia's competition watchdog to settle claims that they took part in a global air freight cartel.
The deal with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, once finalized by the federal court, will end the liability in Australia for Qantas and all of its current employees, Qantas CEO Geoff Dixon said.
