Law360, New York (November 07, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A federal judge has ruled that optical character recognition software firm Abbyy USA failed to support claims that larger rival Nuance Communications Inc. had engaged in monopolistic practices by buying competitors’ patents, among other anti-competitive tactics.
Judge Jeffrey S. White issued an order Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of California dismissing antitrust claims brought by Abbyy USA Software House Inc. in a suit seeking to declare several disputed patents invalid.
