Law360, New York (July 31, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- As orthopedics companies caught up in an ongoing antitrust investigation attempt to clear their names, Smith & Nephew PLC said Monday an internal review has found that one of its sales representatives working under contract wrote an unauthorized e-mail to competitors.
The representative’s e-mail sent last October indicated a coordinated response from implant companies bidding for business with a U.S. hospital and came as the latest development since the U.S. Department of Justice opened an antitrust investigation late last month to track down potential antitrust violations...
