Law360, New York (August 14, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Five of the biggest players in the multi-billion dollar orthopedic implant industry are co-defendants in six federal antitrust lawsuits, filed after the companies disclosed that they had received subpoenas from federal antitrust regulators.
The lawsuits—filed in July in New Jersey, Indiana and Tennessee—seek class action status and treble damages.
The Department of Justice’s investigation into the industry came to light at the end of June.
