$45M Settlement Reached In Becton Hypodermic MDL

Law360, New York (April 28, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Becton Dickinson & Co. Inc. has reached a $45 million settlement with direct purchaser plaintiffs in five antitrust suits accusing the medical device maker of monopolizing the market for hypodermic products.

The Franklin Lakes, N.J.-based company said in a regulatory filing Tuesday that it would pay the amount into a settlement fund in exchange for being released from all claims brought by the direct purchasers, which includes BD's distributors, in the antitrust action.
