Law360, New York (April 30, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. has become the latest airline targeted in a lawsuit by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission as part of an ongoing probe into cartel activity in the air cargo industry.
The Australian competition regulator announced Thursday it had instituted proceedings against Cathay in the Federal Court in Sydney, alleging the Hong Kong-based airline entered into more than 70 arrangements with other international carriers to fix the fuel surcharge on air cargo.
