White House Memo Ends Standoff Over Contractor Layoffs

Law360, New York (October 02, 2012, 6:51 PM ET) -- A new White House offer to shield contractors from Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act liability resulting from pending automatic budget cuts caused contractors to back down Monday and Tuesday from threats to send layoff notices to workers just before the election.
