DOL Sanctioned In FLSA Fight With Wash. State

Law360, New York (August 14, 2009, 4:59 PM ET) -- Ruling that the U.S. Department of Labor did not properly comply with a May discovery order, a federal judge has granted the Washington State Department of Corrections' bid for sanctions in a legal fight over pay practices at the state agency.

Thursday's order, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, requires the federal agency to produce information related to its investigation of the defendant immediately and grants attorneys' fees tied to the discovery fight to the defendant.
