Dems Urge Obama To Abandon Doha Talks

Law360, New York (November 18, 2009, 6:20 PM ET) -- Four Democrats in Congress gathered Wednesday to urge the Obama administration to abandon the Doha Development Round of trade negotiations and instead put more emphasis on environmental protections and labor rights.

“We need to turn around this agenda and make trade work again for all nations,” said Rep. Mike Michaud, D-Maine, who spoke at a news conference along with Reps. Louise Slaughter, D-N.Y.; Marcy Kaptor, D-Ohio; and Betty Sutton, D-Ohio.
