Union Accuses Boeing Of Unfair Labor Practices

Law360, New York (December 05, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- A union representing more than 19,000 engineers and technical workers has accused Boeing Co. of unfair labor practices related to its medical benefits for early retirees.

The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA), the aerospace giant’s second-largest union, filed a charge with the Seattle region of the National Labor Relations Board on Nov. 30. The union claimed that Boeing failed to bargain in good faith and collaborate to replace early retiree medical benefits for represented employees who retire at age 55.
