Retired Delta Pilots Press On With Pension Fight

Law360, New York (December 13, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- A group of retired Delta Air Lines pilots have objected to a proposed agreement between the airline and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. that would enable Delta to finally shutter its pension plans in exchange for awarding the government’s pension insurer with a $2.2 billion unsecured claim in Delta’s bankruptcy.

On Tuesday, approximately 820 former pilots, led by William Buergey, filed their opposition to the move, calling on the court to stop paying lip service to the group and do something to protect their rights....
