Law360, New York (May 11, 2010, 4:37 PM ET) -- The National Mediation Board has changed a 75-year-old rule to make it easier for airline and railway employees to unionize.
The NMB — which oversees labor and management issues in the two industries — on Monday released a Federal Register notice amending a Railway Labor Act rule on union elections. The changed rule provides that the majority of votes actually cast in an election will determine whether a union can form.
