Law360, New York (June 11, 2010, 7:02 PM ET) -- An appeals court in Louisiana has breathed new life into a negligence claim brought against law firm Hawkins & Villemarette LLC by a former receptionist who said she was raped by a name partner on the firm's premises, striking down a trial court's decision that granted the two-member firm summary judgment.
Louisiana's Court of Appeal for the Third Circuit handed down a 4-1 opinion Wednesday reversing the trial court's decision and remanding the case for further proceedings.
