Lucasfilm Hit With $114K Verdict Over Pregnancy Bias

Law360, New York (July 01, 2010, 4:41 PM ET) -- A California jury has awarded roughly $114,000 to a woman whose job offer at George Lucas' film and entertainment company was withdrawn, allegedly after she disclosed she was pregnant.

According to the jury verdict, issued Wednesday in the Marin Superior Court of California, Julie Gilman-Veronese will take home $93,830 for lost wages and $20,000 for emotional distress from Lucasfilm Ltd. However, the jury denied her request for punitive damages.
