Law360, New York (July 13, 2010, 3:08 PM ET) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit has upheld a prison's right to conduct random searches of its employees' vehicles, even if it does not treat visitors the same way.
Random searches of prison employee vehicles to prevent the smuggling of contraband do not violate the Fourth Amendment, the Eighth Circuit ruled Friday, upholding its 1987 ruling in McDonell v. Hunter.
