Law360, New York (January 06, 2011, 3:20 PM ET) -- A federal judge has preliminarily approved a $1 million settlement between New York Indian restaurant chain Baluchi’s and workers who alleged the company failed to pay minimum wage and overtime and misappropriated tips.
In an order issued Wednesday, Judge Richard J. Sullivan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York preliminarily certified a class for settlement purposes, appointed class counsel, directed the issuance of notice to the class and scheduled a final approval hearing for April 13.
