Law360, New York (February 14, 2011, 7:57 PM ET) -- President Barack Obama's budget for fiscal year 2012 includes slashing 5 percent of the U.S. Department of Labor’s funds, with the largest savings coming from the reduction and transfer of a job training program for seniors.
The budget reflects a shift in investments to a new Workforce Innovation Fund and increases for worker protection and mine safety programs, while cutting inefficiencies and streamlining costs in other areas, the administration said.
