Law360, New York (March 25, 2011, 8:28 PM ET) -- The Eleventh Circuit on Friday affirmed a lower court's ruling that a $97.4 million judgment in a Nicaraguan court against Dole Food Co. over alleged pesticide-related injuries among banana farmers cannot be enforced.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit said the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida had ruled correctly that the judgment could not be enforced under the Florida Uniform Out-of-Country Foreign Money-Judgment Recognition Act.
