Mattel Fights $310M Verdict In Bratz IP Row

Law360, New York (August 11, 2011, 8:17 PM ET) -- Mattel Inc. and its Mexican subsidiary on Thursday challenged a California federal court's week-old order to pay nearly $310 million for stealing MGA Entertainment Inc.'s trade secrets, in a long-running contract and intellectual property fight over the immensely popular Bratz doll.

MGA spokeswoman Susan Hale said Thursday that the company planned to oppose the defendant's appeal to the Ninth Circuit.
