Wal-Mart Seeks Dismissal Of Fired Exec’s State Case

Law360, New York (June 15, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has asked a Michigan state court to throw out a suit filed by a fired marketing executive for lack of jurisdiction.

The retail giant contended in a motion this week that former executive Julie Roehm should have filed the case in Arkansas, where she resides and where Wal-Mart is based.

Wal-Mart’s motion came after a federal judge in Michigan refused to preside over the civil lawsuit and remanded it to state trial court, a Wal-Mart spokesperson told The Associated Press on Friday....
