Groupon Accuses Ex-Workers Of Stealing Trade Secrets

Law360, New York (October 24, 2011, 8:59 PM ET) -- Groupon Inc. filed two suits against former employees Friday in Illinois, including two ex-sales managers who allegedly decamped with confidential information for Google Inc., which runs a rival online coupon service.

Groupon says that former sales managers Brian Hanna and Michael Nolan, who left the company in September, were provided with information regarding Groupon's business strategies and practices, such as how it structures and prices deals with merchants. Hanna immediately joined competitor Google Offers, while Nolan joined Google as an account manager, Groupon said.
