AT&T Settles EEOC Age Bias Suit Over Refusal To Rehire

Law360, New York (October 25, 2011, 6:36 PM ET) -- AT&T Inc. on Monday resolved a U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission suit alleging the telecom giant refused to rehire workers who had previously retired from the company.

New York District Judge J. Paul Oetken signed off Monday on a consent decree reached by the parties earlier this month that stipulated the EEOC would pull back from its suit in exchange for AT&T's amending its hiring policies.

“By entering into this decree, defendants do not admit the allegations in EEOC's complaint,” Judge Oetken confirmed.
