Law360, New York (February 16, 2012, 3:03 PM ET) -- International Game Technology asked the Ninth Circuit on Tuesday to overturn a $4.6 million award in favor of two former general counsels who alleged they had been fired after blowing the whistle on alleged shareholder fraud in a recent merger.
In a brief, IGT argued that husband and wife intellectual property attorneys Shawn and Lena Van Asdale jumped to the conclusion that shareholder fraud had occurred, failing to investigate if information was fraudulently withheld and actually constituted shareholder fraud.
