Law360, New York (February 29, 2012, 2:12 PM ET) -- The FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, which was enacted and became effective on Feb. 14, 2012, covers funding for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and also makes several important amendments to the Railway Labor Act (RLA).
The act is the first law to provide multiyear funding for the FAA since the last authorization expired in 2007. Since that time, the FAA received several short-term extensions on funding, but partisan conflicts among lawmakers blocked the passage of any long-term legislation.
